Burghley House

Unfortunately, we read the hours on the website wrong, and the Burghley House was closed when we arrived, but we made the best of it by walking around the grounds.  Then we went into Stamford where we did some shopping and had fish and chips.  It was a fun afternoon.

Brampton Woods Bluebells

My parents were in England just in time for bluebell season, so we took them hiking in some nearby woods to check them out.  They also had fun checking out the neighboring yellow rapeseed fields up close.  East Anglia is definitely colorful in the spring!

Covington

We were lucky that my parents could come visit us for three weeks this spring.  One of our first excursions after they arrived was to Covington, a small village here in England.  My mom's maiden name is Covington, and after doing some family history research last year, I learned that the Covingtons who immigrated to America hailed from Covington, UK.  We had fun walking around the village where our ancestors once lived.
